Adjusting to life at home has been, well, an adjustment. We're getting back to normal sleep patterns, having to cook (at least breakfast and lunch), doing Meds at home and getting back on track with our moving checklist. Connor has really been struggling emotionally, which is no surprise. The poor child was tortured by the procedures at the hospital and we're going to deal with those effects for a long time, I think. Please pray for him to heal emotionally, too!
On Monday, we said goodbye to Grandma. The boys ate up all the play and cuddle time! It was invaluable to have Keegan at home during our week at the hospital, so he could get focused attention. He was well loved on by our friends the first couple days, but having Grandma here to keep him in his own bed and own environment was good. He really struggled with hardly seeing Mommy, Daddy and Connor. He kept telling me he wanted to go stay with Connor at the hospital.
Three times a day we have to give Connor his antibiotics through his Picc Line. He's really a trooper about it and even likes to help me hold the valve when I attach/administer the various meds. We're fortunate to have the antibiotics (which take 30 minutes to go in) in prefilled Eclipse balls. No pump needed. They work off negative pressure, they're lightweight and portable.
Since going to the hospital, sweet friends have been bringing us dinners most nights. Last night, Sharon was bringing dinner and because they are leaving for vacation this week, we had to say our goodbyes. So, she cooked us all dinner and brought it over so we could enjoy one last evening together.
The Klines have been our Tuesday night Dollar Scoop Night buddies. When we first moved here, it took me a couple months to make a close friend. One night, God answered my prayers by introducing our familes at Baskin Robbins. They had just moved here, too, and we were attending the same church and MOPS, but hadn't met. Ice cream has remained one of our favorite things to do together. We're really going to miss them!!!
