MOLDOVA UPDATE: Alan was able to e-mail me again today and he gave me the breakdown of his day. This morning, they went to church where our pastor from NEBC preached and Alan and another gal from the team gave their testimonies. Then they spent part of their afternoon visiting and praying at the apartment buildings where they will be doing ministry and reaching out. Alan's best adjective for the buildings themselves was, "horrible," and emphasized that mulitiple generations of families all live together in a single apartment. It's a lifestyle so far removed from what we can even grasp here in America. In the evening, Al and four other members of his team were treated to dinner at a traditional Moldovian restaurant with the pastor from one of the local churches they're working with. He said it was a real treat, but felt kinda like he was on the winning team of survivor, returning from a reward challenge and trying not to make the others feel badly that they hadn't gotten to go yet. They took leftovers back for the others...just like Survivor. (He cracks me up!)
PRAYER REQUESTS for their day tomorrow: Courage and boldness in sharing the Gospel of Christ, energy and endurance as the days are long and hot, safety (especially for the women on the team), and for their church meeting tomorrow evening - they are trying to get a Jr. High ministry jump-started.
