1...2...3...

Another must read for all my Mommy (and Daddy) friends, is Don't Make Me Count to Three, by Ginger Plowman.

I dare say that it is the best Christian parenting book I have ever read. I am going back through it and taking notes! We seem to have read a whole myriad of parenting books over the years and they're all good. They all have good ideas and most are very similar in their end goal. Our goal in parenting our kids is to raise great, Godly adults, not just great kids. To train our kids' hearts and nurture their character, not just modify their behavior.

Ginger's book differs because along with encouraging parents to train and discipline by the power of God's Word, she gives a lot of day-to-day scenarios and examples of what that looks like in a variety of "discipline" situations. I picked it up and I couldn't put it down. A must read!!!

(And, pick up a copy of her Wise Words for Moms. It's a chart that we have hanging in our kitchen as a quick reference for Biblically based reproof and encouragement. It's less than $4 on amazon but it's priceless in my opinion!)

Sounds good, thanks for sharing. A friend of mine has that calendar thing...glad to know how to get it.

This is absolutely my FAVORITE book I've read, to date, on parenting. So, SO practical and helpful - especially for parenting young kids.

I've heard so many great things about this book too. But not the calendar. Thanks for the advice!

I should clarify, it's not a calendar. It's just a chart, but it hangs like a calendar so that's why I described it as such. My words were misleading.

I got the "calendar" thing from amazon but they didn't have the book! I'll have to order it from somewhere else, I guess. Can't wait to read it!
