Spring finally found FL

Disclaimer to Northern readers: We live in FLORIDA. While you expect long, dreary winters, below freezing temperatures and snow, we do not.

Just last week, Alan had off work for a SNOW day. Yes, it actually snowed here in Pensacola, FL. Did the base really need to be shut down and schools closed? No, but they did and we were glad for the extra day off. All we saw at our house was sleet, but apparently at some point during the day when we weren't paying attention, it did in fact snow.

That being said, it's been a really cold winter for FL. We aren't used to such frigid temps here and we anticipated Spring to start right after Christmas. It's been slow in coming. Today was finally about 60 degrees and it wasn't too windy, just sunny and beautiful outside. We decided to take full advantage of it!

We took a long walk through our neighborhood, then played and worked in the front yard. I bought the boys sidewalk chalk at Target yesterday in anticipation of the warm days ahead and we got to use it already.

After coloring, they had a picnic lunch.
Then they helped Daddy with the yard work. It's been months since Alan has had time to work outside and trim the trees and bushes.
It was a great day to begin teaching the boys how to be helpers and hard workers. Daddy put them to work!
Zoƫ just hung out and enjoyed getting some fresh air.
