"Stop touching each other!" is no longer a phrase I will say 10 times on our way to the store! Yay!
For years, I have grumbled and complained about the Jeep. "It's not safe, it's loud, it drives like a tank, it gets terrible gas mileage, etc..." It was fun, yellow and manly, but not very practical for our growing family. It was a paid for car, though, and there was nothing wrong with it. Eventually, I got over myself and grew content and thankful for the cars we had. Recently, the Jeep began having some issues so we knew we'd need to get something else and God worked out all the details even better than we'd hoped!
We have been saving for years to buy a new car. Yesterday was finally the day. We feel so blessed and I am looking forward to more peaceful drives!
Alan's last ride in the Jeep. He was a little sad to let it go, but he's an awesome daddy and husband, so he put the needs of our family first.
Goodbye, Yellow Jeep!
Hello, Minivan!
I was a very excited Mama! And Alan is excited to have the Pilot with heated seats and a working CD player. ;)
The minivan is longer than my pilot, so I needed something to let me know how far I could pull into the garage. Mr. Lizard is now hanging around to help me out.
We feel strongly about being good stewards of what God has entrusted to us. It's all His, after all. (And we don't always get it right, mind you.) I tell you this, not be judging or boastful, but to encourage you, it is so empowering and stress-free to buy (anything, really) without debt. Maybe you think you can never do it, but you can! It doesn't matter if you make $30,000 or $100,000. If we can do it, you can do it! In our instant-gratification society, people go get what they want, when they want it. If you can be a little patient and let God grow some contentment in your heart (He had to grow a LOT in mine) you can do it, too! Need vs. want.

yea! although, i wouldn't go assuming that you won't be yelling about touching each other. my boys can now reach each other from across the aisle and i have to tell them to stop. i think kids go out of the way to annoy each other. :-)
Yeah! It's beautiful! I just got one, myself, and I am so excited! Of course, my Odyssey is a 2002 and cost under 7k...and feels brand new to me!
I'll be thinking of you as we drive around in our yellow jeep with two car seats and no back storage for strollers ;) so happy for you guys...and we're with you on the driving paid off cars and paying cash! you will LOVE the minivan. I've ridden in Jenn's...they're pretty great!
