The Camera is DEAD

This is it...enjoy the pictures...the camera is dead.
It began acting sickly before Zoë was born and I was panicking that we'd be unable to document her arrival. It hung in there for a while, but it's now totally dead. It drives me crazy how poorly things are made nowadays. Things simply aren't made to last and it's annoying, not to mention expensive. So, I am now on the hunt and researching for a new one, as I am incapable of making such purchases lightly or quickly. I am very picky and want to be wise with our money. Feel free to leave a comment with your favorite digital camera and why you like it.

Before the camera met it's demise, however, we got a few more pictures. A few NEW things Zoë has been up to and some snapshots of random things:

This is Connor's first time in the jumperoo seat at 2 months old:
Zoë's first time at 2 months old:
(Yes, they are definitely brother and sister!) 2 months old is too young for the jumperoo, really, but all the kids have loved their bouncy seat so much and their heads get flat laying in it. This is my attempt to find something else to give Zoë's head a break! Keegan and Connor liked showing Zoë the toys on it and making it light up with all it's sounds.
You can see, she was really impressed.

Another new item: The Bumbo.
My friend, Emily, gave this to us here. The boys never had one, but we got it out last week too, in another effort to find a way to set her down without mashing her head. She looks indifferent about it in this picture, but I assure you, she is really not a fan of it yet. I hope she'll like it more as time goes on.

Following the theme of new things, Zoë went on her first walk around the neighborhood in a stroller. She's big enough now to lie in the side-by-side stroller, so she rode with Keegan while Connor rode his bike.

Just some random pics:

Keegan, the chocolate lover

We left Zoë in her car seat after church last week cause she was asleep. When I walked past at one point, I noticed this:
It's easy to stay asleep when you have a headband over your eyes. (And you can't see it, but she has on the cutest, smocked pink dress from Baby Gap. I love Baby Gap!)

Connor "reading" to Zoë. When I need just a couple minutes of him sitting and her entertained, if I ask him to read to her, he jumps at the opportunity.

Don't forget to post a comment of your recommended camera buys. Or don't buys. ;)

Love the pictures and think you should post them more often once you get a new camera! I'm so sad thinking that we won't be joining you in Pensacola to watch our girls grow together for even a short time :o( We're planning on coming through the first weekend in May though and spending Sunday in Pensacola, so we'll have to make plans for that and have the Stirnizkys join us.

So sorry about your camera Kelly!
Here's our recommendation: the
Lumix 18X Optical Zoom 10 mega pixels. This camera is our old faithful. For example, in addition to being dropped countless times, this summer it survived another amazing accident- I had it on the kitchen counter nestled right up beside my purse after coming home and setting it down quickly. Later that afternoon we were in a rush to head to a party and I grabbed my purse, but the camera also came along...it flew across the kitchen and landed, of all places, in the dog's water bowl and was totally submerged! We dried it out for 2 days and the camera came back to life! We thought that was going to be the end.
Anyway, its been a great camera. We did lots of research on it and read tons of reviews AND found a rebate online. Plus we have been very happy with the picture quality and options...you can video as well( w/ great sound pick up).
That's our 2 cents.
