Hospital Life, Day 5

This morning since Mommy had her baby shower and farewell with friends, Daddy stayed longer than usual with Connor. Both of them definitely enjoyed having playtime!

I have been writing the highlights of our days, but I should admit too, that this whole thing just stinks! I see Keegan briefly in the morning and spend the day with Connor, trapped in a hospital room. Alan sleeps all day, so he wakes up to put Keegan to bed and then stays with Connor while he's sleeping. Alan and I see each other at "shift change," quickly relay whatever happened during our "shift," then one of us drives home very sleepy. Getting Daddy, Mommy and Connor back on normal sleep cycles is going to be a challenge. This doesn't make for a very good family life, but at least it's temporary.

Back to focusing on the positive, Connor is more and more peppy. He's playing, coloring, talking and singing, just like a normal 3 year old. He does get worn down quickly, but the doctors said that would be normal for the next couple months. The big medical accomplishment of the day was that we are no longer doing the breathing treatments with the acapella mask, just an open one. It's much easier on Connor (and the rest of us). God is healing his little body so quickly! Thanks for your faithful prayers!
