Another pretty good day here on the Peds ward. The day began with a visit from more friends bearing LOTS of yummy treats and toys. Have I mentioned how blessed we are?! Plus, Grandma Margy and Keegan got to visit this morning. Keegan has been very curious about where Connor is and when he'll be back. He really misses his brother!
Biggest accomplishment of the day: No more IV fluids! He still gets meds through his picc line, but between doses, he's cord-free. That makes it much easier to play. Connor's white cell count and C-reactive Protein levels are dropping, plus his x-rays look better today, so the antibiotics and breathing treatments are working. His doctor said he's still at risk for some serious complications, so we're stuck here through the weekend. We can go home on Monday if things continue to improve at the rate they have so far and if the home care gets set up by then. Disposition wise, he has come leaps and bounds! This morning he was still fighting the breathing treatments, but tonight, he let Mommy hold the mask and he sat pretty calmly for the whole thing! Plus, he's talking to all the people in scrubs now. Huge improvement!
Grandma Margy reading to Emma and Connor.
The brothers watching Thomas together.
Connor and the fire trucks watching shows. He was sure to set them up so they could see the video, too.
