We admit, we end most days feeling defeated when it comes to Connor's eating. We choose what to feed him and when to feed him, and we offer yummy, healthy choices (most of the time), but he (as many of you already know) chooses not to try most foods, healthy or not, irregardless of the consequences. Though today, I have to praise God for answered prayers regarding this child's palate.
In Dallas, he actually tried pot roast, carrots and potatoes in order to earn time in the swimming pool. (Our joke of the week was that we needed to put in a pool at home!) Yesterday, at a birthday party, he ate a few bites of cake. (We'll skip the part about how he had a melt down over being offered pizza for lunch!) But the icing on the cake was at breakfast this morning.
I was putting cream cheese on my own bagel and Connor asked what it was. I told him and asked, "Would you like me to put cream cheese on your bagel?" A total waste of 11 words, normally. But today, he said, "Yes, please!" Surprised, but skeptical, I shmeared a tiny bit on his bagel, thinking I'd be stuck eating his bagel now. I went back to preparing my food and to my shock, awe and delight, HE ATE IT! Alan and I were both doing internal happy dances, but keeping a very cool exterior. I asked Connor, "Do you like the cream cheese?" He replied, with enthusiasm even, "Yeah!"
PRAISE GOD!!!
(All of you have been following our blog for any matter of time, or who know the crazy struggles we've had with our picky eater, understand why I simply had to write an entire blog post about cream cheese!)

Praise God!
SO awesome! Praise the Lord! I am going to call you tomorrow. I miss your voice!
This too, shall pass! :) Ingy too used to be a horribly picky eater. Now, while still picky, she will eat in obedience and with surprisingly little grumbling, especially when a chocolate chip cookie or yes, the pool, is on the line. Her least favorite thing is pizza with sauce (unless it is from Costco food court, then it is the best thing in the world). But tonight she ate it with joy because I had fresh-baked cc cookies waiting for her :)
Yay! I can just see you trying not to look while he was eating it!
