Swine Flu

I have been wanting to blog lately, but haven't had much to say.  Life in the Rohrer house has felt hectic and harried since January and suddenly things are slowing down.  SO needed!  A) I need a white square on my calendar.  B) My house, which I aspire to keep in pristine condition, is anything but lately. C) We have been sick for weeks. D) I need to see my friends more!  The full calendar hasn't been full enough of playdates or girlfriend time or date time with Hubby.  CRAZINESS!!!  I think it's part hormones...maybe mostly hormones...that have made me feel like our world has been insane.

So today, I am actually feeling thankful for the local outbreak of Swine Flu.  Yes, Cibolo has made national news.  The high school across the street from our house is where three cases have been confirmed, causing our entire school district, plus all city parks and libraries to shut down.  For at least a week!  It's madness.  This week is test week in Texas, so it's pretty unheard of that they would cancel school and postpone the testing they have prepared for all year.  Nevertheless, the Texas Board of Health has shut down our side of San Antonio.  They are asking us to stay home, refrain from socializing, going out to public places, etc...

Combine Swine Flu with the week of forecasted rain and God has gifted me a week of getting it back together around here.  Hopefully we'll get rid of all the sickness in the house, I can get some more sleep, I can get cleaning done, more attention on potty training (everyone's in undies at home now)...REST.  Be STILL.  Oh, and get my hair cut and highlighted, which is also past due and much needed.  Ahhhhh.

Today certainly opens up a white box on your calendar, doesn't it? It is a great day to head to WalMart as I was about the only one there! I hope all is getting better at your place.

I have to say, I would be thinkig the exact same thing! Nothing here in Almost Mexico, AZ, but I keep thinking it'll be any day now. There is a lot of sickness going around, and flu-like symptoms in Chad's office.
