Game Night

Tonight our Sunday school class had a pizza and game night. I LOVE game nights! LOVE them!!! Did you catch that? I L-O-V-E them!!! I am a bit competitive, but really, the extrovert in me just thrives on the fellowship time. Game nights energize and relax me. Is that an oxymoron? We naturally divided into 4 different groups of gamers...Alan and some guys played Settlers of Catan (the latest game obsession in our house), another group played Catch Phrase, another dice and dominoes, and mine played cards. We played a game called, "Oh Hell." (Good church game, huh?!) It had elements of spades, hearts and rook. You bet on how many tricks you would take, based on the trump, but it had some serious twists. I did very well the first round and just so-so the second, but we talked and laughed and enjoyed one another! It was an excellent night!
Game nights take me back to my college days where my roommates and I would break between studying just to play a card game. Not to mention all the nights playing rowdy games of Nerts that would get so large and loud that our neighbors would complain. Are you gamer? What's your favorite game to play?

I am so glad you had a great time. We did too! It was a lot of fun. I need to get that Settlers game.

I miss game nights with you! And I love O Hell. I grew up playing it constantly with my cousins. We still do whenever we get together. I will play nearly any game, though. Don't do it nearly enough here :-(

My absolute favorite game is Taboo, followed closely by Cranium. :-) I don't like the mathematical games, but the ones that deal with words and such, I'm drawn to.
