Santa's New Sleigh

Today was the 479th FTG (Flying Training Group) Kid's Christmas Party. The Group is made up of 3 squadrons so there were a good number of families there, but it wasn't too big either, which was nice cause it was easier to meet new people. Today I met another wife who takes her kids to the same MDO on Tuesdays, which is crazy cause it's so far across town. They live in the neighborhood next to ours, so we have another friendship to pursue. :)

There were activity stations set up for all the kids and a bounce house, too. The boys liked the idea of the bounce house, but weren't actually brave enough to go in. They enjoyed the pine cone decoration station and the cookie decoration station, though.

Keegan especially enjoyed eating the cookies after decorating them! You can kind of see how messed up his face is, too. He was running in the hangar and the floor is rough, so he tore it up when he tripped and took a nose dive. No less, before the Christmas card pictures were taken!
The big event of the morning: Anticipating Santa's arrival.
Didn't you know? Santa's traded in his sleigh for a T-1! It flies much faster than reindeer!
Santa giving Keegan and Zoƫ their books. Connor refused to go up and see Santa.
When Santa walked past the boys into the hangar, Keegan said to me, "Ho, Ho scared me, Mama." But when he saw that "Ho, Ho" was handing out presents and candy canes, he was fine. He even wanted to go back and say thank you again before opening his present.
We don't make any fuss over the man in the red suit in our house. The boys have only asked about Santa coming at Christmas because they've picked things up at school or the grocery store from the strangers who ask, "What's Santa bringing you?" Why, oh why, do strangers talk to children at the grocery store?! That aside, the morning was nice and we all had a good time getting out of the house.
