Our new Thanksgiving tradition this year was the opening of The God Jar.
Never heard of a God Jar? It's a jar that sits out in our living room and throughout the past year, we have been filling it (though not enough) with things we are thankful for. The idea is that whenever we see God at work in our day to day lives, or even the lives of those around us, we record His Work on a little slip of paper and put it in the jar. It's a way to be thankful all year long. Then, on Thanksgiving day, we open the jar and read them, remembering His faithfulness.
As the kids grow, I can tell how much fun it will really become, since already this year the boys wanted to have turns "reading" the slips of paper. What fun it will be when they can read and write them!
This Thanksgiving was also unique for our family because this was the very first Thanksgiving we haven't spent with OCF friends. We could have gone to OCF thanksgiving here, but we've been so emotionally and physically wiped out, we decided to lay low today. We made our own feast (even a sweet potato casserole for Daddy), went around the table and said what we were thankful for (Connor said Daddy, Keegan said God) and now Daddy and the kids are cuddled on the couch watching the Curious George Christmas special.

What a great idea! I love the idea of collecting our "thankfulness"; it almost makes thanksgiving more tangible all year long!
What a beautiful family!
I am stealing that idea1
