Happy 4th Birthday, Connor!

Our big boy is a little bigger today...he's now officially a four year old!

Connor's favorite TV show is PBS' Wordworld. (He is spelling up a storm, so we love it!) I bought Wordworld decorations for his birthday and you can see on the walls, I got birthday wall clings. Being a smarty pants four year old, Connor's first words this morning when he awoke to the decor were, "Mommy, you're not allowed to put stickers on the wall."
We started his birthday with the traditional birthday pancake breakfast.
After school and nap, he opened his presents. Months ago, he started asking if he could have "wooden tracks" for his birthday. He was thrilled as he opened the gifts and found lots of wooden tracks and Thomas trains. (And so was Keegan!)

From Mommy and Daddy, he received a bicycle, so this is a picture of his new helmet, though it's hard to see. Thanks for keeping his noggin safe, Grandpa and Grandma!
For dinner, the boys' friends Ben and Josh came over with their Mommy and Daddy to eat, play and celebrate.

Connor really wanted PIE, like Pig on Wordworld, so instead of cake, he helped me make an apple pie. He did try it, but as usual, our picky eater wasn't thrilled.
Keegan and the other boys (and adults) enjoyed ice cream cones and pie, though!
Happy 4th Birthday, Connor! You are such a blessing to us! You challenge us, you amaze us, you frustrate us, you DELIGHT us and we love you more than words can express! It is so fun to see you grow and you have matured so much this last year. You are becoming more independent and your memory amazes us. You still love cars and trucks, but you're really into trains now and you can spend an hour just playing with your foam letters, spelling out words. Your laughter is hearty and contagious and we look forward to starting each new day with you. We continue to pray that God works in your heart that you would love Him and follow Him all the days of your life.

Happy birthday Connor. You are the only other one I know who likes Word World like Gatlin does! It's such a great show, isn't it? We miss you guys!
