Toddlers, toddler boys in particular, aren't the quietest creatures, so the library isn't the ideal location for an outing with them. We've been plenty of times, but we have had to learn to make our visits quick. The more trips, the more they learn the rules, though. Our local library offers a summer reading program for kids as young as infants. Reading time is marked off in 5 minute increments and their own reading, your reading to them and audio books all count. I don't even count the time they look at books themselves since they aren't reading them yet and already, the boys are up to almost 400 minutes each. Connor is ahead of Keegan since his attention span is much longer, but today we turned in their first bookmarkers and they both got coupons for Whataburger, tickets to the circus and entered into the drawing of Mom's choice (I chose the Chester's Hamburger Gift Card box since we lunch there with Daddy sometimes.)
The boys are all about the audio books in the car! Connor holds the book so Keegan can see it and he can follow the page-turn-sound to keep up correctly. I was shocked the first time he did it and it is so cute! I wish it were reasonably safe to take a picture while driving, but I refuse to be one of those crazy drivers endangering my own family and others. Sorry, you'll just have to trust me.
You should Moms should check out the libraries near you and see if they have programs for infants and toddlers, too. Even if it's just story time.

We adore the "libarry"! I have 31 items checked out right now. Books on CD are great for the car. We just finished Anne of Green Gables (which I'm sure the 2 Rohrer boys would adore...ha ha ha) and we will be starting Anne of Avonlea on CD next time we get in the car.
