Today began our trek to Buena Vista, CO. 8.5 hours and we've settled down in Amarillo, TX for the night. The boys did really well in the car, looking at books, listening to audio books, coloring with Color Wonder markers (LOVE those!) and they only watched one DVD. No naps, except the 15 minute one that Connor took as we rolled into Amarillo at 6pm.
The quotes of the day were from Connor. First, if you have ever driven across west Texas, you know there are countless windmills and Connor has dubbed them, "spinny-spinnys," since they spin around. He would get SO excited when we'd see another cluster of them. He was very excited an awful lot this afternoon! Second, there's a Cracker Barrel across the highway from our hotel, so we told the boys we were going there for dinner. Connor, freshly awake from his catnap exclaimed, "(Gasp!) We ARE? Hooray!!! I loooooove Crackers!"
Tomorrow it's into the mountains to beautiful Spring Canyon, OCF's camp. Hopefully, we can get internet access so we can journal our week on the blog. We're very excited about this opportunity we've been gifted and we're thrilled to experience family camp for the first time. Connor has been talking about "school camp" for weeks now, since the boys will be in a children's program in the mornings and late afternoons when Alan and I are in the conference sessions.

Have a fabulous time! We usually go to a different family camp, but if they are close to being the same..you are going to have the time of your life and will go back every year!
