F-R-O-G...FUR-RAH-GUH...is what we keep saying to Connor. Since moving to Texas, frog has been added to his vocabulary. We have lots of frogs in our yard, his class at church is called the frogs, he has a frog t-shirt...the amphibian interjects itself in our lives weekly. Now, while Connor's vocabulary is very good, his enunciation is not! When Connor says, "frog," it sounds like "f#%k!" You can just imagine how embarrassing this has been. Today was no exception.
This morning, I had the boys at the medical clinic on the base and we were sitting in a large, crowded waiting room where CNN was playing on the television. I didn't really catch the story, but they spent what seemed like a looong time covering a story about a two-headed turtle. Not missing a beat, Connor caught sight of the reptile and mistakenly assumed it was a......you guessed it, a frog! With great animation and excitement, he began to hollar, "F#%k, f#%k..." repeatedly. People around us were staring and some, giggling. I was as bright red as my toenail polish and in a raised voice, I gently corrected him, "FROG, where do you see a FROG? Oh, no baby, that's a TURTLE. A two-headed TURTLE! That's not a FROG..." and so on, until CNN moved on to another story. (Sigh!)

That gave me a GOOD laugh!! I can just imagine it. Next time I see Connor I'll be sure to ask him about frogs! Ha ha!
That is too funny of a story. You'll have to put that story in his scrapbook so he can get a laugh at it when he's older.:-)
Oh, that is great! :-) Ha, ha!!
That's hiliarious! Riley named the frog that lives on our back deck "miss chilly"...we are having lots of frog conversations too but luckily our frog has a name so we dont' have any embarassing mispronunciation moments...just people wondering who Miss Chilly is...
After you left on monday there were 2 frog's in the backyard with Lilly. All I could do was laugh and think of Connor.
I'm so sad. I check your blog every day and there hasn't been anything new forever. :-( I hope you all are doing well.
May be Connor will end up collecting replicas adn reading every book out there about amphibians and animals just like his Dad did when he was young!
So funny! This sounds like one you will rememeber to tell him when he gets to be an adult!
